About Me

Hi! I’m Elena, a UX Designer based in Austin, Texas.

Prior to becoming a designer, I worked as a Physical Therapist for over two decades helping patients from newborn to 100 years old and above regain their physical mobility and function. With my expertise in ergonomics, I’ve also trained and assisted office workers and hospital staff to have an ergonomically correct workstation set-up both in their on-site and remote settings.

Throughout my career, I’ve always been intrigued and interested in technology and the design of things and how they play such a big role in healthcare and in our daily lives. Everything around us need to have good design for people to successfully and safely use them. I’m always in a constant research mode, interviewing people, asking for their opinions, comparing and reading to better understand how things work and how to modify them if needed so I can create impactful experiences for my patients.

Then, I found out about UX design and I immediately saw the opportunity to combine my love for technology, design, research and healthcare.

What I love about UX Design:

- Choosing color palettes that are accessible for visually impaired users

- Creating wireframes and prototypes based on user feedback, pain points and needs

- Developing websites and apps that even less tech-savvy individuals can navigate easily

- Ensuring that buttons and tabs are placed strategically in different devices based on ergonomic principles

I look forward to bringing my Healthcare expertise and design experience to diverse companies that focus on education, healthcare, safety, ergonomics, and information technology.

I’m excited to make an impact, one website at a time, one app at a time, one user at a time. Allow me to make that difference!
